Safety Concerns in the Classroom

Because of the nature of the disability, there are safety concerns that should be taken into consideration within the art classroom. Fatigue is common in learners with MS, therefore they should be provided with the ability to be seated at all times during an activity or lesson. In addition, weakness may result in the learner dropping tools or being unable to grasp them effectively. Tools that are sharp or heavy should be properly secured or used only with assistance to insure the safety of everyone in the classroom.
